Courtenay Anne Woodward

Courtenay Anne Woodward died at age 18
72nd Avenue and 152 Street, Surrey

On the night Courtenay Anne Woodward died, she was out having coffee with her girlfriend and she was driving her boyfriend's car. They had been getting a boat ready for the water. Courtenay was driving an unfamiliar car and driving too fast. She was very much an animal lover and may have swerved to miss a cat or some small animal. Her family will never know. The stretch of road she was driving was straight and there were no other cars on the road, but excess speed was involved, that much was clear. Courtenay's mother remarked that it was so fortunate that her girlfriend lived. Courtenay would never have been able to bear it if it had been the other way around and her girlfriend had died, and she had lived.

As a little girl, Courtenay was always pushing the envelope a little. According to her mother, she walked early, rode her bike early and did things faster than other kids. So Courtenay died as she lived.

Courtenay's mother said that her daughter was a remarkable person and that her family feels so blessed to have known Courtenay for 18½ years. They feel sorry for the people who never got to meet her. Courtenay is very much loved and missed by her family and friends.
