Registering your child for The Journey World takes 4 steps. Each step helps us make this a safe place for your child.

Step 1: Register your Parent Account.

Fill in the form with your information.

Step 2: Check your email to activate your Parent Account.

After you send us your form, an email is sent to you with a link to click on. This activates your account.

Step 3: Click the link and enter your username and password.

You will then be able to create one or more Child Accounts.

Step 4: Close your account so that your child can login.

Once you create your child's account, logout of your parent account.  Your child can then login with the user name and password you registered for them.

Terms and Conditions for Griefworks BC - The Journey World

1 Description of Service

Griefworks BC provides this website as a community resource offering a safe space with activities that support a child's grief process. It is not intended to replace therapeutic services or professional counselling.

By registering with The Journey World you agree to use the site at your own risk and be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you don't accept these Terms and Conditions, don't use the site. Griefworks BC may update the Terms and Conditions without notice to you. Please check back from time to time. The latest version is at http://www.griefworksbc.com/journey/tandc.htm

2 No Healthcare or Medical Advice

The information on the site is provided as a guide only. It is not medical advice. The information on this site is general in nature and is not specific to any one person. Any decision concerning your or your child's health, therapy and/or medication should be made with a qualified professional

3 Use of the Site

The term 'your username' refers to the parent registration and any child registration(s) used in association with this parent registration.

Registration, Usernames and Passwords

For your child to use the site, you must complete a Parent Account for yourself and then register your child. By creating a Parent Account, you certify that you are over 19 years old and the legal guardian of those for whom you create a child account for. You must provide us with accurate, complete information about you and your child. It is your responsibility to maintain the accuracy of this information by emailing Griefworks BC to inform us of any changes.

After you complete the registration, you will receive a username and password for your Parent Account and each Child Account(s) you create. You are responsible for the security and proper use of your username and password. Make sure they are kept private and that your child understands and agrees to keep them private. You are responsible for all activities that occur using your username and your child's username. If you think someone else knows your username/password combination, you must contact Griefworks BC as soon as possible.

GirefworksBC does not record your password. If you forget your username or password, email Griefworks BC using the email address provided during registration and we will send you a link to create a new password. We reserve the right to suspend or cancel accounts if we think the account has not been used correctly or properly.

4 Use of the Content Creation Tools

When using the site, your child may create things in the following areas:

• Harmony Hollow for songs
• Memory Book for writings, answers to activity questions, etc.
• Candle Island for written honor messages about the person who died
• Gathering Circle conversations

4.1 Using the Gathering Circle and Content Creation Tools

The site contains a Gathering Circle where your child can talk to invited guests at a specific time. Invitation emails will only be sent from Griefworks BC after you give permission by clicking a 'Permission to Send' link sent to you in an email. You and your child agree to use the Gathering Circle and the tools there only to send and receive messages and create things that are respectful and meet the requirements of these Terms and Conditions and the website. There may be more rules that come up in the future that we will ask you to agree to but, for now, you absolutely agree that when using the Gathering Circle and tools, you will not:

• Defame, abuse, harass, stalk, threaten or otherwise violate the security, safety and/or legal rights, such as rights of privacy and publicity, of others;
• Publish, post, upload, distribute or disseminate any inappropriate, profane, defamatory, infringing, obscene, indecent or unlawful topic, name, material or information;
• Upload files that contain software or other material protected by intellectual property laws or by rights of privacy or publicity unless you own or control the rights thereto or have received all necessary consents to do the same;
• Upload files that contain, or otherwise intentionally release or disseminate, viruses, Trojan horses, worms, time bombs, cancelbots, corrupted files, or any other similar software or programs that may damage the website, its contents or the operation of another's computer or property of another;
• Falsify or delete any author attributions, legal or other proper notices or proprietary designations or labels of the origin or source of software or other material contained in a file that is uploaded;
• Harvest or otherwise collect personal information about other individuals, including email addresses, or post personal information about another individual;
• Violate, or encourage others to violate, any applicable laws or regulations;
• Create a false identity or impersonate any person or entity for the purpose of misleading others;
• Use, download or otherwise copy, or provide (whether or not for a fee) to a person or entity any directory of visitors of the website or other visitor or usage information or any portion thereof;

Griefworks BC reserves the right to review materials posted to the Gathering Circle and tools and to remove any materials at our sole discretion without notice. Griefworks BC makes every attempt to check postings to the site and to alert parents of anything created by their child where some action is necessary. This monitoring will depend on having staff available and is not guaranteed. Griefworks BC does not control or endorse the content, messages or information found in the Gathering Circle and tools and, therefore, specifically disclaims any liability with regard to the Gathering Circle and content creation tools and any actions resulting from what you, your child or any other visitor creates on the site.

Griefworks BC reserves the right at all times to disclose any information it deems necessary to satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process or governmental request, or to edit, refuse to post, or to remove any information or materials, in whole or in part, at its sole discretion.

4.2 Content and Copyright

Griefworks BC either owns the intellectual property rights, including copyright, or has acquired the necessary permissions in the information, including all text, HTML (hypertext markup language) code, multimedia clips, images, graphics, icons, Java code and the selection and arrangement of the contents of the site, collectively, the Information.

Your child will own copyright to everything they create on the site, not including graphics and text already created for the site. By posting or creating entries, candles, or musical compositions (User Materials), you grant Griefworks BC a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide license to edit, modify, or remove such User Materials and to use, reproduce, broadcast, publish or otherwise display without personally identifiable information, same worldwide in any form or format of media or technology, whether now known or developed in the future.

4.3 Limited License

Griefworks BC grants you a limited license to display on your computer, print, download and use the Information for your own personal, non-commercial or educational purposes only, provided that:

• you do not change the Information.
• all copyright and other proprietary notices are kept.
• you follow these Terms and Conditions of Use.

without limiting the generality of the foregoing, you may not:

• use any of the Information for any commercial purpose or for any public display either commercial or non-commercial
• include any of the Information, or reference to it, in or with any information, product or service that you create, distribute or provide
• copy or transfer any of the Information onto your own web site or any other web site or server.

The Griefworks BC logo is a trademark of Griefworks BC. 5 Warranty Disclaimers

Griefworks BC may take steps to keep the information and activities on the site current and up-to-date but does not guarantee or warrant the quality, accuracy, completeness, timeliness, appropriateness or suitability of the information on the site.

Griefworks BC takes steps to safeguard your personal information. Griefworks BC maintains the following controls to ensure the security of information:

8 Choice of Law
