Angela

Well, she was my mother and she had a wonderful smile and was a great person. In her childhood, which was rotten, she was very verbally and physically abused. As an adult, she had three beautiful children named Caitlyn, Jessica and Joe.

She loved us all very much but as we got older, things got tougher and harder to deal with so she came up with a way. But this way was a very negative way and the worst way - DRUGS! Well, she started experimenting with alcohol. Then it escalated to crack and she got really into her addiction. When we moved to safe houses she got clean again but we moved to downtown vancouver and it was always in her face so she started using again.

We got taken away from her. My sister and brother grew distant from me. I was alone and sad and really depressed. We always visited my mom and I loved seeing her but time went on and our mom didn't call much but when she did we were so happy. A couple more months went by and one Friday afternoon my mom called my brother and wanted to do something with us. We were going to meet the next day. Instead we got a call from an after hours worker who told us to meet her at her office.

When we got there I knew something was wrong because my social worker was there and she does not work on weekends. We all sat down and she started crying and said the words a child would never ever wanna hear, "Your mom has passed away." Right then I felt like my heart just sunk to my toes. That's when I knew my life was going to change.

A couple of days after I was all right kinda 'cause she has a family up in Heaven. She's got my baby sister, Ameilia, and my granfather and my sister's dad. BUT SHE'S AT PEACE NOW! And I'm kinda glad 'cause she had a really hard life!
