Ryan was taken from us on May 11, 2004 in
Burnaby, BC while on his way home. He was hit and run over by a woman who admittedly changed lanes in an
intersection and was going over the posted speed. He was killed instantly and, as of Oct. 2005, we have
never heard a word from the woman who killed him - not even, "I'm sorry." Tragically, this has torn
apart our family. Ryan was the life force in the family and we all miss him so much. Just before he died, he travelled southeast Asia for 3 months on his own and saw things he would never forget - the poverty and way of others' lives. When he returned, he had matured so much and was ready to move on to the next stage of his life which was to include Dana, the love of his life. They planned on a future together, but that was snuffed out early on May 11/04. No charges laid. Just another statistic. Not even blood or alcohol testing was done on the driver of the car. It was against her human rights. But a full autopsy was performed on my beloved son because in Canada, the minute you die, you have no rights... Ryan, I hope you are somewhere beautiful and watching down on us as we struggle
to accept the cards you/we were dealt that fateful day. We will miss and love
you for the rest of our lives. Submitted by: Debbie Dawson on October 29, 2005
